    Our Ph.D. program immerses students rapidly in their chosen research area and provides each student with the necessary foundation to independently develop and apply their creativity.

    As one of the elite mathematical schools in China, School of Mathematical Sciences offers Ph.D. program in Pure Mathematics, Probability and Statistics, Numerical Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Bioinformatics.

    Academic Requirements

    To qualify for a Ph.D. degree, all students are required to: (1) get a minimum of 13 credits. Specializedcourse requirements are set by individual departments (Students from abroad, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan should refer to the related rules and regulations of Nankai University); (2) complete a dissertation that clearly advances understanding of the subject it considers; (3) have at least two papers get accepted or published in core journals, or 1in SCI journals before graduation; and (4) fulfill all the academic requirements in no more than six years. The normal time for completion of the Ph.D. program is three years.
